Kai | Undine | Level 2 Aquatic Druid

Born in the salt-crusted canals of Minton, Kai was raised by a soft-spoken Water Genasi mother who taught him the currents like lullabies and showed him how to breathe calm in the pull of the tide. He never knew his father, but sometimes when he asked, she would spin yarns of a sailor who left the port only for the sea to claim him, like it did with many things.
 
It takes a village to raise a child, and after Kai's mother passed when he was a teenager, he drifted through the market piers and coral-shadowed alleys of the Mer District, where the other Aquatic folk took him in without question. To him, everyone there became an Uncle or Auntie. He learned quickly how to slip through crowds mostly unnoticed, how to sit perfectly still for hours, how to fixate on the exact rhythm of a tidepool and find peace there -- and eventually, how to call upon the water when he needed it.
 
He doesn’t talk much unless it’s about the sea. Give him a quiet dock and a bucket of odd shells, and he’s content for hours. He struggles with loud places and fast talkers, but in the water, his thoughts move smooth as waves. The sea is where everything makes sense.
