Appearance

Physical Description

A tall, well built young man whose pale skin and slightly weathered features are often hidden by layers of clothing or his armour. Often covered in bruises and minor injuries, especially around his hands.

Body Features

Metal omega symbol attached to his chest, a distinctive tattoo on his right arm, scars along his fingers. Lichtenberg figures down his entire back.

Facial Features

Unkempt wavy hair with a fairly uncared for beard that varies in length based on how much attention he is paying to his physical appearance.

Identifying Characteristics

Stratos has a tungsten carbide omega symbol attached to his left pectoral to mark him as belonging to Clan Ohm. He also has a tattoo on his right should of a 45 degree angle with a double line on the upper arm of the tattoo (Nimbostratus cloud symbol) marking him as a member of House Nimbus.

Physical quirks

Stratos often finds it difficult to sit still, while difficult to notice in his armour, outside of his exo-suit he will pace, drum his fingers on a surface, stroke his chin, or tap on his temples. He will also have a habit of twitching slightly when someone touches him unexpectedly.

Apparel & Accessories

Stratos wears a cream leather coat with brown trim, a green and black scarf to represent the earthing wire of a plug. He also owns a pair of lensed goggles he uses to view small intricate mechanical parts and cabling.

Specialized Equipment

Stratos is an engineer of distinction who can work out new and alien technology, he is also slowly beginning to understand how to utilise magic, particularly to manipulate his natural affinity for thunder and lightning.

Mentality

Personal history

From a young age he proved a curious and inventive lad, designing traps for animals and even accidentally creating a siege weapon to catapult him into a lake for fun.
 
At the age of 16 he was inducted into The Nimbus Mechworks at Castle Boreali where after designing a new omni-directional dynamo for the great mechworks fair outshining his contemporaries in House Aurora.
 
Thanks to his skill he was sponsored by Arch-Duchess Cirrus of House Nimbus to work as an junior artificer for House Nimbus where he would work on infrastructure. He spent his spare time designing and building a custom tesla armour rig for use by solo field agents who would go out into the galaxy to salvage tech from different markets.
 
Now a senior artificer, he has been tasked by his sponsor to become one of said field agents and test drive the armour rig he designed.

Education

Stratos was educated in The Nimbus Mechworks at Castle Boreali, a vast towering castle deep within the antarctic circle of Hurican. The Castle has a shining beacon that pierces the into the sky and seems to almost conjure the southern aurora. Inside the castle is a vast foundry and workshop where all the new up and coming engineers learn their craft and develop their skills. Once an engineer graduates they are either sponsored by a house or freelance for a larger clan.

Employment

Stratos was sponsored as a House Artificer by Duchess Cirrus Nimbus after graduation, he spent his junior artificership designing smaller more efficient capacitors and generators. After becoming a senior artificer at 25 he began to develop exo-suit 'Armour rigs' for industrial purposes and later began exploring other uses for the rigs.

Failures & Embarrassments

His final project at Castle Boreali was a theoretical design for star ship armour plating that should have allowed ships to survive the atmosphere of Hurican. When the theory was put to the test by a private enterprise later on, a spacecraft's reactor overloaded and detonated over a settlement; wiping out the crew, the settlement, and damaging The Great Spire with its explosion radius.

Mental Trauma

When he was 14 years old, while out foraging for his clan, Stratos was caught in a particularly nasty storm. As a citizen of Hurican, Stratos, even as a child, was experienced in all manner of turbulent weather and knew to find shelter. Unfortunately the cavern he sheltered in began to flood and forced him back out into the open, while searching for new shelter he found himself in a clearing and was struck by a 200,000 volt lightning strike while scarred across his back.
When he was found by his clan; the forest around the clearing had been flattened and Stratos was in a coma. He awakened 3 weeks later and had a much shorter temper and became easily irritated.

Intellectual Characteristics

Stratos has a habit of sketching in notebooks at any opportunity as well as being unable to sit still when in deep though. Even in his armour he will stroke his chin or tap his temple when in deep thought.

Morality & Philosophy

Stratos' philosophy is that of every problem has a solution, and that solution is found through logic and reason tempered by natural passion. Passion fed leads to ruin just as quickly as passion denied.



His morality is generally based on reason as well, if something needs to be done then it should be approached in the same way any problem is.
