Physical Description

Athletic and muscular, Elza Varro tries to keep herself in peak physical condition, a habit she picked up in the Coruscanti gang of her youth. She has long legs from years of sprinting away from trouble in the undercity, and a hell of a right hook.

She has a long scar on her brow, leading into her hairline. The scar has caused her hair to have a streak of white along it's path. The rest of her arms and torso have a number of scars as well, from wounds she took in the undercity and in her time as a Stormtrooper.

Mentality

Personal history

Was born in the undercity of Coruscant, and joined a gang at a young age for protection. She was an enforcer, doing horrible things for horrible people because she thought she had not other choice, until one night when she took a job that left her with blood on her hands that nothing would wash clean. She joined up with the Empire to get away from that life, though she now finds herself doing similar things to what she carried out in the Undercity, only this time with a veneer of authority over it.

Education

Small stints learning from charity teachers for perhaps a week at a time, before her first formal education in the Imperial Army and later the stormtrooper corps.

A corporal in the Stormtrooper corps.

Mental Trauma

She killed at the behest of her gang boss, and deep down, thinks of herself as a monster only fit for violence. Seeks structure that can keep her "leashed," so that she can be used for something better than simply murder.

Uneducated but fairly quick to pick up concepts, though doesn't think of herself as bright, she generally seeks out others she thinks of as better educated or smarter than her for direction.

Do what you have to do to survive, no matter what. Look after those around you that look to you for support, and let the rest do what they gotta do. Has some sense that this isn't enough, and grapples with the idea that other people also deserve to live and thrive, but has a narrow view and thinks of the galaxy as zero-sum.

New mates, old scars

The last few days have been wild, and that's saying something on this bucket.

After poking around for the last few months on the Scylla, being thrown in with other cast-offs and undermanned squads chasing down pirates out here in the ass end of nowhere, the CO put me and a few other roughnecks together to go hunting down some lost TIE parts. The rest of the group is alright, a few of 'em I've seen around on the ship and one or two of 'em seem to know what to do with a blaster in a pinch, so I wasn't too worried. The doc seems sharp too, so at least we aren't just a bunch of idiots with guns out there, void knows there's enough of that running around the galaxy. They also pulled in that card shark from the hangar bay too, just so we'd have someone who could tell a TIE fighter from a swoop bike in case we found anything.

Short story is, we found some shit alright. Getting down there we did the usual marching around in our buckets and poking our noses into people's business, looking for trouble and information. Eventually we ended up at a scrapyard and leaned on the owner, and it turned out after the doc talked to him that he had some parts on his lot. And a lot more besides. Soon as we found the fighters a few of those void-damned pirates crawled out of the shitheaps and opened fire on us with a damned skimmer, which got dicey. We took care of most of them, it being a bunch of pirates VS us bloodthirsty killers, and then Rollo hopped in the fighter as blasted the skimmer to hell. Was a pretty good show all around, and once we got back to the Scylla, the LT had some good things to say to us, before letting us slink off to get some showers and chow.

Few days later, the LT calls us in and lets us know that we're being formally organized into a new squad, codenamed Havoc after some famous unit back in the Old Republic days. Felt pretty nice actually, considering where we've been posted and what we've been up to lately to have some identity, and then they told us we were heading down the well to Belassar-3 to chase down a tracking signal they were pretty sure was set as a trap for blaster-bait like us. Well, we weren't gonna make those pirates go to all the trouble of setting up such a nice ambush without springing it in our Lifeday best, so we went down to an old mining town on the mudball being turned into a resort to go find some pirates. Did some more of the usual march and push, met a racer and his very fine twi'lek friend, and eventually took a transport over to an old mine. Sarge talked a bit about his old days, and a few of the others opened up about what they were doing before they got shoved off to the Scylla, seems most of us ran into a bit of trouble here and there, which might explain why we're out here chasing pirates for the corpos. Once we got to the mine we found our ambush, and obliged them pirates, but it turned out to be a bit stickier than we bargained for. All of a sudden, the racer's girls shows up with a few others, blasting away at the pirates! I don't know what the hell they were doing out there, but I didn't mind the help, I can tell you. One of 'em spoke in some language to Rollo, and he asked that we keep it all hush hush, which even the Sarge agreed to, but now Rollo's part of Havoc full time as well.

It's been more action in a week than I've seen in a month on the Scylla, and it seems like maybe there's more out here than just pirates and corpos, aside from us bucket-heads. I don't know where it's leading, but maybe we'll finally get a chance to do some good out here....
