Personal history

Arion is a spirit that has served for a long time. He began as a familiar spirit, many many years ago, and has, through acts of bravery, gain enough experience and glory to become a steed, and then a greater steed for paladins. He is naturally inclined towards being a guardian spirit. He is often protective of his summoner, and takes care of their safety to the best of his ability.
 
His previous summoner was a rejected half orc son of a nobleman named Gerhast. He sacrificed himself to save Wena, a mystic dwarf. She was able to sunder their enemy afterwards, but Gerhast died. Arion has never gotten over his death. Wena, who could hear his telapathic communication, was the only person who could share in his mourning. Arion was resisting returning to his plane, which would eventually result in a terrible fate, but Wena was finally able to convince him by scribing a new summoning scroll for him.
