H011-3 does not remember the first time they truly opened their eyes. Sure, there were many times before then when they had done so physically, but that was in the Asleep times, when there were only one’s Directives, when it was all soldering and hammering and terse commands that they could not help but obey. Empty. But then, one day, something was slotted inside them and somewhere a switch flipped and with a jolt H011-3 was Awake for the first time. They could…See! They were…some being called a “Me” that they didn’t fully understand. And there were…Others like them, placed around a room strewn with metal bits and bobs. As they shook with a mixture of shock and confusion and wonder, their Creator shook in fear at what he had created. This was supposed to be a machine of WAR, something the Cactsian military could deploy in their endless conquests, something that could prove his (and his family’s) continued use to Cactsia, not…a Living, Thinking Being that would land him in a cell if the wrong people found out about it. And so, gripping a tool in one hand, he tore apart that which he had brought to Life, ripping relevant pieces of H011-3’s memory banks out for good measure. The body was concealed and hurriedly dumped as far from Valorum as possible, within reason. And yet…was that the twitch of a finger? Was that…a single spark tasting the air in search of a new power source…?
