Phillipe grew up in Champaghn and always hated his country. He hated how the rose court basically could only operate by taxing the poor so heavily. He wanted to see a liberated champaghn under under a government by the people. He enlisted in the blue rose to try to study magic and get stronger. He was able to summon and make a pact with a demon simply known as "the imp"
 
During his time at the blue rose he met Xavierra and he was just enamored by her beauty and talent for magic. to say he was smitten would been an understatement. He got to know her and she recruited him to the cult fueling his radical ideas
 
the group first met phillipe on Jessica's ship. Here he almost sacrificed Nat to his patron but, she was saved by Ace. Phillipe would also kidnap the First perfect prophet Halandriel. Phillipe hasn't been seen since the ship
