Wyrd was born in a remote village and was mistaken for a changeling resulting in their left hand and face being burnt. After this they were adopted by House von Krolock and became a Dhampire.
Wyrd is the sole heir of House Krolock, the most powerful family of vampires in Urina that has stood strong for a millennium. They are obsessed with maintaining the honor and legacy of their longstanding noble family, and as such, they strive to make their house proud with every action they take and every spell they cast. However, Wyrd has one weakness: their love for a certain Count Cyrille Noir.

Identifying Characteristics
Wyrd's most defining feature is the large burn scar that covers the left side of their face. It exposes their teeth and empty eye socket, and their left hand is also mangled into a claw from their burns.

Personal history
Six years before the Wild Hunt, Lord Herbert von Krolock and his husband, Alfred, were hunting near a village. As they were about to return to the castle, they came upon a child crying in the snow, covered in burns and near death. Their blood was still warm from their recent meals, and in an attempt to warm the child Herbert fed the child his blood and saved their life. They began to notice odd changes shortly after they returned to the castle with the child.
Their nails grew faster, their hair changed color from the roots, and their burns healed faster than normal. Finally, they found the child draining blood from a rat with two newly grown fangs. They checked the child for bites and found none, yet the child still displayed vampiric traits. It was Herbert’s father, the count, that determined the cause: Herbert’s blood willingly given with the intent to save their life had turned them made them into a dhampir and joined them to the von Krolock bloodline. He explained they would be cursed to walk between worlds neither human nor vampire but was cut off by Herbert scooping them up and proclaiming them as his child and heir before running off to find Alfred. After much discussion, the child was named Wyrd, an old German word for fate.
After Wyrd's adoption by the Krolocks, they had a fairly easy childhood. They were spoiled rotten by Herbert, taught magic by Alfred, and taught how to fight by the Count. Although there was a silent understanding between the family that Wyrd was ultimately meant to rule if anything happened to the Count, they all still treated Wyrd with utmost care and love.
By the time Wyrd turned 20, they had become a powerful Sorcerer and traveled to the Akaris Academy eager to make their house proud.
Education
As previously mentioned, Wyrd was taught magic by their papa and taught swordplay by their grandfather. However, they also had tutors (and Alfred) teach them practical sciences, mathematics, arts, and literature. Count Krolock made sure that Wyrd had the best education that they could get.

Mental Trauma
Although Wyrd wasn't old enough to remember anything that happened to them before they were adopted by the Krolocks, they are still deeply insecure about their burn scars. Occasionally, they cover it with a half mask because of this.

Cyrille Noir (fiance): Wyrd's fiance. They have known each other since childhood, and their first bonding moment occurred when Wyrd saved them from the harassment of the castle's vampires. They became affianced during their second month at the academy.
Azaloth de Fleur (friend/frat brother): Wyrd and Azaloth initially had a rocky start as roommates, but they eventually grew to be best friends at the academy. Wyrd and Azaloth formed The Fratula together.
Captain Muffinpaws (friend): Muffinpaws and Wyrd also had a rocky start, but have now generally accepted each other's existences. Wyrd hates it when Muffinpaws tries to open their window in the morning though.
Catrina von Kingsley (friend): Catrina, Millie, and Wyrd were all childhood friends due to being similarly aged children from the upper houses of the roundtable. Young Wyrd did not understand mortal social cues, and this resulted in young Catrina crying a lot during her time at the castle. Wyrd generally does not mind her presence but still shrugs when pestered by the Kingsleys to take their daughter's hand in marriage.
Chateau de Latour (friend): Wyrd and Chateau generally don't talk much, but they seem not to mind each other.
Millie van Fenrir (friend): Catrina, Millie, and Wyrd were all childhood friends due to being similarly aged children from the upper houses of the roundtable. Millie and Wyrd had similar predator instincts as children that only seemed to grow as adults, but they both seem to act cordially with each other due to their statuses as the heirs of Fenrir and Krolock. Wyrd slightly distrusts Millie due to the Fenrirs and their involvement in the deaths of Count Marie Andree Noir and Lady Vivienne Noir.

Jericho von Krolock (Bunicul): Herbert's father, Count von Krolock, and one of the eldest vampires in all Urina. He and his wife were forcibly turned by the progenitor vampire and later fell in love with a village girl named Sarah Chagal.
Beatrice von Krolock: The Count's first wife and Herbert's mother. Died fighting in the first Wild Hunt long before Wyrd was born.
Sarah von Krolock (Buna): The Count's second wife was once a peasant girl who dreamed of life outside her bedroom walls and was seduced by the night. After the second Wild Hunt, she left to see the world.
Striga von Trifaria (Tusa): Distantly related to the von Krolocks and the minor lord who oversees the militia. They taught Herbert and later Wyrd to fight.
