Life was simple until, at 12 in 2472, a sudden display of magical ability—an uncontrolled Arcane Bolt that felled a predator—shocked his hamlet, prompting a zealous priest to brand him in court with Chaos, Torin marked by the community’s fear as he fled into the wilderness, a pre-teen cast out with only his river stone necklace for comfort.
 
Lost in the wild outskirts, Torin survived as a pre-teen by scavenging and evading bandits, his scars multiplying from skirmishes until the Red Banded Talons discovered him. Among the Talons, he found a rough home, though his magical potential and mind remained unfocused until an elderly woman, a defector in the Talons with a gentle spirit, took him under her wing. She taught him martial arts to ease his troubled mind, her quiet lessons blending with his innate magic. Her death in 2477 left him with a legacy of balance and purpose.
 
Now 27 in 2487, Torin has left the Red Banded Talons, though their compounds remain a home he can return to, his heart torn between their cause and his own path. After his mentor’s passing, he sought out others like him—outcasts branded by society—gathering outcasts and sympathizers and directing them to the Talons. He is now determined to harness his magic and martial arts, inspired by his mentor’s legacy to help others who cannot help themselves.
