Motivation

Having found a new friend and a 'gust of wind' (and, let's be honest, a great temptation to try his new powers) Forlan desired to do something exciting, something that matters. Going back into Starspire Mountains wasn't really his goal at that moment, he was like 'I've always been under my father's hand and couldn't go anywhere without permission, and last 10 years... let's not talk about that, ey, Wrinkles? I finally have a chance to do whatever the hell I want!' So he took Beregost, a popular stop between Baldur's Gate and Amn, usually thriving with merchant caravans, as his destination (there really was no point in it other than "let's find something to do, they need people who solve problems right?"). Kaol'Arai didn't want to do or see anything specific yet - just the very picture of everyday life, work and social interactions filled him with joy as his friend roamed across the country. So he travelled north, along the coast, trying to earn some living by cooking in inns, chopping wood and such, also hunting for some better errands allowing him to use his newly acquired powers (he didn't want to draw unnecessary attention, so announcing himself 'a warlock to hire' was not an option). Soon enough, he saw an advert on the inn's wall - Calishite Malissiah was willing to pay good money for some battle-hardened individuals. It seemed quite bizarre since merchants were just comers and goers in Beregost - just a few days thing. Malissiah wanted a proof that Forlan is the one she seeks, but a quick telepathy trick convinced her he's more than a mere cook.
