Back in his younger years, Flute's family lived a happy, simple life. Often they learned to explore caves to make a living, and play the flute to pass the time. His, Gale, was an important figure in his life. His father was a cleric of Sekelcuse, and focused on the charity aspect of the god. Often times, whenever they would gain a large haul of gold from their adventures, he would give it away to those less fortunate than the flock. However, time is a cruel mistress, and in his father's age, he suffered an injury in a cave in. Both of his legs were broken, and Gale was left bedridden. Flute himself wasn't confident in himself without his father, as he was simply following his lead. So he took to the street, hoping that those who they gave to, would give back.
 
No one helped. He was a skinwalker in copper cove. Often time alienated, and remarks of leaving back to dolten weren't uncommon. One day, a strange man came and saw the kenku, and offered him a deal. A lifetime of care for his father and mother, in exchange for 1 million gold pieces. In a moment of weakness, he accepted the contract. Relived that his parents were safe, he spent a few days loafing about, and simply being with his family. However, a grim reminder came to the kenku about the deal. The man's hirelings were set out as guards in front of his home's door. They knew he wasn't working, so they barred him passage from ever seeing them again until he got the dept cleared. With little options left, Flute left the bloodwaves to start working up a profit as quick as he can.
