Session 11
(10/13/25)
We rested two nights with no incident. The first night was cool, and we spent it in a field. Agni interrogated Lunette about a personal matter of hers. She was very forthcoming, talking extensively about her mentor. I asked more or less how much we could trust her (I have hesitations about assassins, which feels reasonable enough) and she assured us that it was more beneficial for her to leave us alive. Timjam, on the other hand, admitted to killing people accidentally with toxic plants. I kept an eye on him during my long rest.
I woke Lunette first on the morning of the 4th. She seemed like she wanted to talk. She had questions about Osha and my relationship to him. I did not go into great detail, but only because it didn't seem the time for a deeply emotional revelation.
We passed through another day of fields and sparse woods and arrived near the city of Kuhri in the evening. The city appears to have outgrown its bones, sprawling off beyond the walls and bursting at the seams with people of all kinds. It was as crowded as the festivals in Waycarres, but all business. The air was dark and gray, blurring the edges of things and settling as dust on every surface.
The people had a lined, worn look to them. They swayed as they walked and showed years beyond their time, the way people do when they work too much and get far too little food and sleep. I felt at once that the Osha Collective could do substantial good here.
We approached a gate into the city where guards stopped us and demanded papers. Agni convinced them that he would explode in the coal dust filling the air unless he was allowed to ascend, and passed. I stated that myself and Timjam were religious, and were here to offer assistance to those in need. The others, I explained, were our staff. We were allowed to pass, although this will not work again, I expect. We were also scolded and told to get our papers in line. Agni had wandered off to a bar, where we found him.
