Did well in school and was a bright hope of his family. Comes from a family line of scholars, teachers, and statesman. Some family members blessed with innate abilities in elemental magics, but often skips generations or presents itself under stress.
 
Known for settling disputes within his school and family life, it was hoped he's become a statesman or diplomat in time. So he was sent to the boarding school that generations of his family trained at.
 
Lost at sea in a great storm he survived beyond all hope, with only vague memory of the incident he can only wonder why it was he alone (as far as he knows) who survived. Taken on the wind and seas for days he was found by a ship of giants and there he remained as a pet or mascot to the crew. He was unable to communicate with them to correct their thinking he was just a big cat for many months. But in time he learned their language and proved himself a valuable crew member. His dexterity and balance were well suited for ship life, his small size compared to the crew made him invaluable in time. He rose through ranks at first in ship care and maintenance, but later through combat with rival pirates. He was then trained in the use of finesse weapons and excelled at the bow. As they moved to pirate other seas he became a voice of the ship speaking common and having an exotic look but similar size to the people's in these waters. So at many ports and in trades he gained experience and quiet confidence. This later extended to those they defeated with fear and diplomacy on the seas rather than bloodshed. He didn't mind being the top of the spear, so to speak, and when diplomacy failed he would slip away and through his foes as his mates joined in battle. Stealth and
being fleet of foot have aided him many a time when words fail.

Now making ammends with his piracy after leaving that part of his life behind, he takes on calls to action which he deems to be good works
