Session 18: Moonshadows Maw Report

General Summary

Our Heroes had what they needed and proceeded through the ethereal gate, the spatially Crossroads was put behind them. Proceeding through a liminal space of intersecting dimensional doorways. They were brought to the Moonshadows Maw: A level of dimensional doorways that were made up of staircases that intersected, were intertwined, some upside down and some all out of sorts. Six more paths were laid out before them, and with some deduction and magical reasoning, they chose the path closest to them and proceeded forward. They found themselves first within the lair of a Guardian Naga loyal to the Sun God Daelos, Star crossed lover of Celestia. With floating pillars and magical traps in a spactially distorted area, they used various means to make it to the Solar Forge, overseen by the guardian Naga himself. He spoke of the origin of the dungeon, of the aspect of the goddess, her corruption, The Mad wizard Karah who had plundered this area before, and more. Having thoroughly proven themselves, he opened the Solar Forge, which forges the soul and makes it stronger, and allowed the main characters to step in, growing stronger. He then brought them to the lair of the Crystal Monolith, where crystal guardians, sentient crystals and more awaited. They made it to the Monolith himself and had dialogue, but were interrupted by Ivan and Axios 036, who were openly hostile for reasons unknown. Laying a careful trap, the party dealt significant damage to Ivan and cornered the two, forcing them to surrender. Having satisfied the crystal being, he has opened a portal through a crystal behind his den. The party takes the two, and heads toward the final floor.
