Session XLII : Arrival at the Conflux Mountain Report

General Summary

A large cavern

Having arrived at the catacombs, the adventurers discuss how to spend their final day before the invasion. To make a better decision, they decide to inspect the lay of the lands. The cavern is filled with multiple ruined buildings, separated by large gorges filled to some extend by lyrium rivers. To the west, a likely exit to the surface can be found while the gap leading west can only be crossed over the eastern parts.   Impression of the Conflux Catacombs   After sneaking through some of the demon-infested ruins, the adventurers decide to cross the bridge to the north-east when they find a hooded figure kneeling near the ground. Nalan and Oswald Fleetfeet decide to approach the creature. Approaching it they see the other side of the bridges covered with deceased red armors. Unleashing an attack on the hooded figure it unleashes a scream of misery revealing itself to be a Despair Demon   A Despair demon   With her unleashed scream, a large winged creature drops from the cavern's ceiling to assault the adventurers on the bridge. A vicious battle erupts, with the titan unleashing vicious roars of lightning and scraping them with its sharp claws. The demon uses her powers to hide underneath the bridge, ultimately angering Oswald who blows up the bridge using his Fireballs. The adventurers do manage to all cross the bridge and decide to lay low near the cavern wall to the east.   Unbeknownst to them, the Red Armors have sent a scouting party to check on the large explosions. Following their tracks they sneak up on the unaware adventurers for an ambush. As battle unfolds, will the adventurers be able to keep their presence hidden long enough, or will the mighty "Butcher of Fezzan" : Gireon Uthram learn of their intrusion?
