Session XXXVI: Reborn

General Summary

Having survived the Rite of Symbiosis, the group took a desperately needed rest before taking the opportunity to learn as much as possible from their newfound friends and discovered many important pieces of information. Perhaps most importantly, they discovered that Conveyor Fyrbid is an incredibly long-lived individual, thanks to the symbiotic relationship he has with the spores. His exceptional age and health have given the party their first real clue that might fit the disparate pieces of their stories together: long, long ago, when Fyrbid was just a boy, there truly were dragons in Prehn, and they were worshipped. There was also at least one individual at the time who believed that instead of worshipping the dragons, the Prehnites should subdue the dragons and harness their power for themselves.

They also discovered that Fyrbid is a member of the Arborwatch and is a personal acquaintance of both Elara Cloudwalker and baby Winslow, the ethereal forager (sky whale).

The issue of Calico and Zenora's curses was also addressed, and it was suggested by Sister Venn that the witches may be willing to remove a curse when others would not, and after a careful examination of the marking on Calico's shoulder, she indicated the curse may even be a witch's work. When asked if there were faster means to traverse the Mirewood Swamps, Fyrbid offered to Tree Stride them to the swamp's border, close to where Sister Venn somewhat recently encountered a witch.
