Session XVIII: Reuniting the Party

General Summary

Upon waking, Calico Jack told Horxim what happened with the duplicate Calico/Zenora, and Horxim took it upon himself to talk to her and see what else he could learn.

He found her on the beach in a semi-catatonic state and helped her to bury her legs and sculpt a sand mermaid tail with exquisite detail. While performing this act of solidarity for his comrade, Zenora told Horxim that she's being followed by people from Deroleux's Select Conservatory of the Arcane and that they are all in danger now that she's been found.

He returned to Calico and Zaki and related the information. Zaki chimed in, telling the party that she, too, has experience with people from the Conservatory. However, she never encountered Zenora during her time there and had no idea that she was involved with them, either. She also told her companions that she was attending the Conservatory on a scholarship.

Pursuing a hunch, Horxim cast a spell to see if Zenora's assailant was still lingering near them, and with a Nat 20, was able to determine that the individual was still within a six-mile radius of the group.

Deciding that they can't trust anyone and determined to reunite with Wiinken to pursue the mysterious agent of the Conservatory, Calico Jack scared off Brae, who ran into the forest.

Meanwhile, Wiinken - now suspecting Zenora and Zaki of being agents sent by her parents to force her to return to Chalcedon and potentially attack Calico Jack, who her parents must assume is her kidnapper - put an Arcane Lock on Calico Jack's door at the Third Donkey Inn and refocused on her work, recording different voices for each of the characters in the Inn's historical narrative.

Finally, the party reunited at the inn, and Wiinken related her discoveries in Zaki and Zenora's room to Calico Jack, who in turn told her about the confrontation Zenora had with the mysterious assailant.

The party is now preparing to pursue the individual from the Conservatory. It is early afternoon on the 23rd of First Seed, the weather is 36-48 degrees F, it is partially cloudy with a light breeze, and Chandra is a Waning Crescent.
