Session XIV: Advenere & Beyond Report
General Summary
Having slain the carnivorous plant, the party investigated it further, discovering a unique, ethereal root system that vanished into the earth as the plant disintegrated. Giving time to Horxim to rest and recuperate from his injuries, the party decided to camp along the river and wait until the next day to continue on to Advenere. Their rest was disturbed, however, by a strange, nightmarish creature that inflicted madness upon Retired Captain Calico Jack and Wiinken, causing Calico Jack to attack Zenora and Wiinken to destroy the creature. A native of the forest, Horxim assures the party he's never encountered anything like the carnivorous plants or the nightmarish lizard creature. With this mystery before them, the party finished out the night, keeping a more vigilant watch, and finally made the last leg of the journey into Advenere the following day. Upon their arrival, they discovered a charming statue depicting two men, a centaur, and a donkey in front of an inn named The Third Donkey; they learned about the inn and town's shared history, and have worked out a tentative agreement with Berin Forubron-Demescu, owner of The Third Donkey, wherein he will provide the party with rooms in exchange for approximately 250 pounds of smoked boar meat. In addition, Calico Jack offered up Wiinken's services to repair and perhaps embellish upon the town's statue in exchange for using the inn as a base of operations for the time being. The party is seated in the inn, sampling the famous lingonberry pie.
