A Fateful Meeting Report
General Summary
Vondal and Guinevere, having dispatched the wendigo, took some time to assess the camp. Imza Dotsk, the Damaran girl who had previously fought the beast with them and the only other survivor, was in a state of shock, alternating between hysterics and silence. Guinevere elected to try to console the young girl while Vondal took over investigating. Supplies and tools were present, but the rations in the camp were threadbare, indicating that the workers had been short-stocked far before the abomination's siege. As Vondal attempted to sever the creature's head from its body, he discovered that the spine refused to give, reminding him of stories he grew up hearing about monsters whose bones couldn't be broken except by the weapons of gods. Taking the antlers instead, he also found a note on the corpse, a letter from Olafur to his brother. Determining nothing else was to be done here, the trio rested over the evening and left at first light. The journey back to Navarre was uneventful for the group, but on the morning of the third day, Guinevere and Imza were missing. Guinevere had left a note saying that the two of them were taking a different route to the city so that she could provide a space for Imza to grieve and prepare her for the big city. Vondal made it to Navarre without issue, passing by a caravan loaded with goods heading for Vurgh on his way. Following the instructions left by Olafur he found the Wolf and Waif, a prestigious club for the richer merchants, visiting nobles looking for a good time, and a nicer place to eat and play some games. Outside the front door was a muscular elven man who introduced himself as Raro Moonfire, the security for the place. Raro got Vondal to Sigrun, the head of staff, and Olafur's wife, who was grateful for the closure provided by the dwarf's tale of a monster taking Magnus's life. Raro, however, recognized the description of the monster as the very same stilt phantoms that his people, the Luandis, spent years learning to avoid in the woods of Kerod, and understood that the creature was most likely Magnus himself, driven mad by starvation and isolation and cursed by evils from times before the Draoi came to Imaruth. He shared this information with Vondal alone and no other. Sigrun sent the two men to Tradetown, the working district where they met with Olafur, the godi who left the bounty note. He thanked Vondal and his partner for their efforts and provided him with a few items that the Order gave him to take care of those in need, stating that he figured Vondal and Guinevere would be able to put them to better use. He also took note of Vondal's tattoos and showed his own, an enchanted one from Thalia the Artist who would be in Timere in a few weeks. With this mission completed, Raro decided to show Vondal a good time and took him back to the Wolf and Waif, leading him down into the basement where the illicit pit fights took place. After an afternoon of relaxation and drinking, the two men engaged in a pit fight with Crunxosh "the White Death", a Dragonborn boxer who came to town looking to make a name. After the fight was complete, the men got a well-needed night's sleep and set out in the morning for a few errands. Raro sold off the remainder of the dragon's hoard he entered Navarre with and got the coin consolidated into a set of trade bars for convenience. Vondal attended the morning meal at the Plaza of All Faiths, where he helped godi Banmun Silvereye serve a meal to the crowds. Godi Banmun inquired as to the status of Vondal's quest to find the cause of the fire and provided him with a small scrap of parchment bearing a pair of crossed cutlasses on a ship's sail, saying that a team sent to the ruins of Otiskhan found that among the rubble. The men stopped in the Throat of the Dragon, a local smithy run by Grunndar Emberbeard to get a new weapon attachment started for Raro as well as potential enchantments for Orenmir, Vondal's hammer. As the two adventurers finished their errands and wondered what to do next, Raro felt a gentle hum coming from his pocket. He removed a business card from the Obsidian Laurel, gently humming and slightly warm to the touch, with new text on the reverse side that read "Frostborne Pier, 8th bell".

Character(s) interacted with
Grunndar Emberbeard, the Blacksmith: owner of the Throat of the Dragon. Wide and extremely muscular, a salt-and-pepper beard adorning his face, with some spots looking more than a little singed. Currently working on the design for Raro's custom weapon and looking into enchantments for Orenmir. Olafur Stoneheart, the Foreman: foreman at one of the textile warehouses in Tradetown. Raven black hair and beard held tight in thick braids. Formerly a godi, but according to Godi Silvereye he lessened his involvement with the Order in recent years. Currently working as the foreman. Sigrun, the Wife: Olafur's wife, a resilient and caring dwarf woman who manages the household with warmth and efficiency. Stout and strong with dark auburn hair. Known for her culinary skills and strong yet fair nature, Sigrun is the heart of the family. Currently working as head of staff and head cook at the Wolf and Waif, with an open invitation for Vondal and Raro to join her family for a homecooked meal one day. Godi Banmun Silvereye: head of the Navarre chapter of the Order of Thor. Shorter, older dwarven man with grey hair and simple robes. A kind-hearted individual who felt the calling to provide a safe place in town and worked with Olafur to found this chapter many years ago. Is familiar with the tragedy at Otiskhan and has been looking into it with other godar. Crunxosh, "The White Death": A white Dragonborn underground boxer from parts elsewhere. Tall and muscular, he came to Imaruth with a contingent of fellow Dragonborn looking to make a name for themselves and go pro. After being defeated by Raro and Vondal, he respected both of them and was taken for treatment by the club's ringside doctor. Eric LeClerc: human man, the liason for the anonymous owner of the Wolf and Waif. A well-dressed tall, gaunt man who spoke with a raspy sibilance. Surprisingly resilient to a push from Raro.
