Navarre

Navarre is a port city in the Dragonborn country of Janethan. From the southeast comes the Mieghurth Trail, and the Chelro High Road departs the city from the northeast and northwest. Being one of three coastal ports, you would expect it to be a comfortable merchant city like Timer. However, its proximity to Niathim Isle and specifically the city of Barakon lead to a much more militaristic way of life for most. The city is fortified from attacks in order to keep the Forsaken out. A fortified wall in the ocean keep raiders from sailing straight up to the city, and trade is conducted by lowering segments of the wall to allow for the boat draft of merchant vessels. On the land side, most of the city is guarded by Dragonborn soldiers from the Knights of Winter's Edge citadel posted in town. The rest of the security work (mostly in and around the merchant quarters) is handled by the Blades of the Ages, a warrior-scholar organization with their headquarters in Navarre. Despite the overbearing military presence, Navarre is still a profitable trade town and has gotten the name "The Jewel of Janethan" as a result.
