Session 16: The Ravensfield Mystery Report
General Summary
Vezzir, I have done as you have instructed. Your plans have been put in motion. B’s request has been dealt with. I also have an update on the ascension project. Our latest experiment has unfortunately been another failure. I have yet to implement the changes after the successful ritual on our champion, so our next try may show better results. The subject you provided was adequate. I appreciate you have listened to my advice and that the latest captives are more than vagrants and homeless vagabonds. Those already weakened have very little chance of surviving the process after all. This man, Reynis I believe, was in good condition when he arrived here. The ritual was successful, but the result left much to be desired. His transformation is only temporary, dependent on outside factors, and completely involuntary. He also seems to lose all consciousness while in drake form. I know this is unacceptable. I do implore that you allow me to euthanize the failed subjects. While the data of them in the wild are interesting, they have not yet taught me anything useful. Instead, this latest subject has caused some problems in the nearby town of Ravensfield. He has killed livestock and two villagers. I also believe him to be responsible for a number of petty thefts. All of this will no doubt attract much unwanted attention. Some of my contacts in the village have already told me two locals (a dragonborn and a kobold) are making inquiries. Should someone send word to Keralon, actual knights could come to Ravensfield to investigate. We need to make sure this does not happen. At the very least I hope you can provide me with some more protection in case someone does discover our little operation. I want to remind you that we are not yet done. The ascension of our champion was a great day, but we still have many other goals to work towards. Please, continue to send me the necessary subjects and reagents so I can continue our research and lend me a little more muscle. With all we have learned these past few months, I am sure I can replicate our success for all of us. I just need a little more time. Professor E.
