Session 39: Searching for remnants

General Summary

The party regrouped and took a short rest in Flick's lamp, taking time to talk about the answers Ospreay got from Bahamut, and the legend lore on the symbol of Omiyasu.

The party got a download that there were 2 gods connected to this symbol, and found that it seemed like there was a component of the symbol missing.   Robin said that where she is from the story shared sounded a lot like the tales of The Seamstress and the Arbiter.   Leaving the lamp the group went to the well and found statues of folks, similar to those in R?. The well housed 3 Terrors and 2 Haunts, and the group dealt with 4 of them, using one Haunt to follow it to where it seemed to be recalled to. Olin and Flick hung back and Flick verified there was *nothing* he could see that was impacting the water, so the pair left.   Ospreay, Guen and Robin followed the Haunt (the floating skull) and it went by an outpost. Guen and Robin continued but Ospreay stayed behind to check the outpost. Inside he found a small orange goblin child (named Khiz) who was distraught that they were turned orange. Flick and Olin arrived and Flick sent Khiz with Parsley back to town towards Dyfse's shop.   Ospreay let them deal with the kid and took off after Guen and Robin. At a fork, he went to take off his armor to fit through a small gap but it reacted and started trying to kill him. When Flick and Olin caught up it tried to kill them too. Olin used a anti-magic rune on the armor and the curse was removed, leaving only a +2 armor in its departure.   They then ran to catch up as chanting seemed to pick up in tempo.   Guen and Robin arrived to a chamber where a summoning ritual was taking place. There were a collection of goblins in cloaks making a star, one holding one as if they were next, and one doing the ritual. They very quickly made themselves known and tried to disrupt the ritual. Guen took a few hits, and when the others arrived, Guen got healing from Ospreay. Then the group started to attack the goblins....with aide from Dawm. However, the ritual was complete and the Desolate Grim crawled into this plane, attempting and failing to infect Robin and Ospreay, and on a dropped concentration, is now not controlled by a baddie. But that was replaced by a goblin installing a Circlet of Influence on Olin after he dropped, and being brought up by the other baddie.   We pick up from here next time....
