Session 46: The Heart

General Summary

Ospreay had a memory that turned into a dream. In his dream, he saw a dragonfly, and followed it, when it diverged into 2, one silver, the other a teal color, he followed the teal color. He got to a chamber, where he saw a large fungal mass, pulsing in a injured indigo. He recalled a phrase being spoken to his father, and woke up. Upon waking up, he could understand the myceet. He ran into town, confused, and saw Shroomy and a buddy, so he followed them into the medicine hut, invisible, but he could understand them.
  Guen was concerned after a while and left Olin and Flick sleeping to go look for Ospreay, Shena tried to pick pocket a shiny trinket from Guen, with a promise of the trinket Shena takes Guen to th medicine hut where Shroomy works. Inside, Shroomy gives Guen some of the river water, explaining that the water carries some fungus in it, and when drunk after about 10 minutes, enough spores will have sprouted in the tummy to create a link to th myceet. Her body will get rid of it naturally in 24 hours. However, when Ospreay appears and Guen says he almost drowned and died in the river, Shroomy asks to take a look in his lungs and proceeds to manipulate his head into a thin tube to look, inside he found fungal growths, and said that Ospreay would want to kill or rid himself of the fungus before 4 days pass or it might start to kill him and mutate him t become one with the heart, like the myceet.
  Ospreay is glowing green, and Omba asked Shroomy if he was the one they'd heard about. To which Shroomy said that the two outsiders owed him, so either way they could help try to heal the Heart. Shroomy went to go check on Flick, Olin and Robin as Guen and Ospreay went with Shena and Omba. The group of 4 traversed the river to Salaphys acquiring 2 acorn boats, and floating to the watcher at the docks. They are greeted with a city that it itself is living even the structures are fungal. They go to the edge of the city, and find what was likely once a sink hole, and climb to the bottom where a few old marble columns stand cracked and worn, and large bones are embedded into the crystal. In the center is a circle of rocks and a tangled mess of black vines and roots. The 4 work together and untangle the roots accessing the last remaning ancient Heart-Seed. They put it in a bag, and head over to the other half f the city upriver, to Corantyq. Similar to Salaphys the buildings are all fungus, but all is old and seemingly unused for some time. They make their way over to the river's entry to the Rot-Vein Passage, and are attacked by Thyllen, once a Heartkeeper, and now fallen ill to the Bruising Sleep, and some of their minions. The group decides the fight is not as important as ensuring the seed is planted and curing the heart, thus they run past and down into the Heart's Chamber.
  Upon arrival they see the Mycysian Heart suspended above a drop of who knows how far, and vein like tendrils offshooting in many directions. They witness a few crumble and fall away upon their arrival. They work as a group, Ospreay thinking quick to get Saberhagen over to the heart, morphing into its cat form, and carrying the seed, Guen and Shena construct a tightrope with t Hommunculus and mage hand, and Omba talks with the heart.
  Working together they manage to stabilize the heart, and Shena and Omba work to cut the corruption out of the heart, Ospreay and Guen stabilizing the veins. Shena manages to get all the corruption out, and Omba plants the new root, and makes the choice to meld their soul with the heart to make it stronger. Being absorbed the heart pulses in a red-sh violet now. Veins strong, illness gone.
