Session 85 the plain of Duati&#
General Summary
Evening of the 29th of Diana, 500 CD.
The members of Shining Eclipse gathered at the Quiet Equinox the only inn on the outer plain of Purgatory. They discovered the Three royal members of the royalty from the material world. King Uther Pendragon of Avalon, Queen Quivaris Emberheart of Imyfelon, and King Barbarossa Stormwalker of Geleon. All three royal members had been recently assassinated. They sat there having Steak, Potatoes, salad, and fresh bread. Along with a beverage of their choice. The three were having a quiet conversation. While some members of the party including Arceven, who was looking at his "dead dad" kept their distance. While other approached the trio asking question on if they had any information on the where bouts of Puff . The Trio informed the party that Puff was never seen in his true form. He always showed up as Harry Houdini looking for the great betrayer. Harry blames himself for putting Harker in the position he had, giving him access to valued eggs of the clan. Harry had found out that he was still alive and roaming on the outer plains with possession of the eggs, or so he believed. The last time he was seen was 300 years ago on the outer plain of Duati'net. He never returned. The party was told to find a guide by name of Whisper. the party was told that Whisper was a loyal subject of the Kingdom of Avalon before he was also assassinated by Lilly Harker. The party found out that the Astral Aurora which did the loop was leaving the next morning.
Morning of the 30th of Diana, 500 CD.
The party was woken around the 5th hour of the day and told to get there stuff together because the train was soon departing and it did not wait for anyone not even the gods. They were given some dragon orbs to pay for meals while on the train for the five day of travel required to reach the outer plain of Duati'net. Once all passengers were aboard, 17 plus the party, the train departed on time as it always does. In the dining cart of the train the party ran into a figure wearing the color of the Order of the Phoenix robes. The hood was pulled up so he could not be recognized. The figure a male began to ask questions to the party members in the dinning cart. Once his questions were satisficed he revealed himself to the party. This did not go well with Marrik , as he was a Tabaxi. A rival race whom the Egyptians excepted and used quite often for their trade caravans on the material plain. He introduced himself as Whisper and began educating the party on the outer plain of Duati'net. Warning them of the Taboos of the outer plain. He warned them that the Egyptian gods ruled with an iron first on this plain and did not tolerate any other forms of worship but them. He warned them that The non- human races would need to find a way to hide their race if they left gate city of Duskarra. Each member of the party was given a coin pouch of 16 dragon orbs. Four colors of each of the main colors. They arrived at the city gate of Duskarra bound for the Ziggurat known as the Tomb of the Shattered Suns.
Morning of the 5th of Apollo, 500 CD
Woken by the Cambion named Ishari of the Twelfth Bel who was the inn keeper of the Veil and Vesper. She tells them that Whisper waits for them outside with camels. The party must depart as soon as possible before the sun rises and questions are asked of the party of mortals on the plain and there intent on being here. Plus with the two suns on this plain the dessert gets extremely hot and travel at night or early morning is most preferable. The party left around the 5th hour of the morning of the 5th of Apollo with four leagues to travel. Whisper has warned the group that other people have shown up and left for this Ziggurat having never returned, including Harry Houdini. One party member standing for his beliefs said prayers to Asgorath defying the pantheons of this plain. The party traveled through the desert with no issues reaching the Ziggurat around the 9th hour of the day. Then Whispers been them farewell as he had to get the camel's back to Duskarra before questions would be asked. " May the blessing of your gods be with you in this terrible place. He advised them to take a rest drink some water and eat some food for they may not know when they will get to eat again. One hour later as there short rest was just about over the party saw the following. Your shadows stretch long and thin across the cracked stone, flickering despite the stillness of the light. And then... movement. At first, just a whisper of grit beneath bare feet. Then the unmistakable clatter of bone-pierced trinkets—wind chimes made of teeth and bronze. Out from behind a sloping dune emerge four Dust Goblins, small, wiry creatures with ashen-gray skin like flaked clay, their eyes glowing with molten yellow hate. Their jagged weapons seem rusted and cursed by the very plain you stand upon. Behind them, rising from the shimmering haze of the desert, comes something far worse. A towering figure, skin like glowing embers cracked by obsidian veins, wreathed in smoke and arrogance. His coal-black beard is braided with gold rings inscribed with the names of forgotten cities. His eyes burn like coals in a funeral pyre, and a wicked scimitar of liquid brass rests casually in his hand. An Efreeti. He smiles without warmth. “Ah... mortals,” he says, voice like fire licking bone. “You draw breath where none should. You rest at the threshold of fire’s tomb and expect to go unnoticed?” He lifts one hand, and the goblins hiss in anticipation, licking cracked lips, their small claws twitching. “The Tombs have been sealed for a thousand years. What makes you think they would open... for you?” The air tightens. Heat gathers. Something ancient stirs inside the ruins behind you. Your moment of rest is over.
