Session 86: Tomb of the Shattered Sun
General Summary
SESSION 86: Midmorning of the 5th of Apollo, 500 CD.
The companions of Shining Eclipse while taking a short rest after traveling a half day in the hot desert of the outer plain of Duati'net in search of an ziggurat have found the entrance known as the Tomb of the Broken Sun. There guide a tabaxi by the name of Whisper has left them to take the camel's back so hopefully there would not be questions of having mortals on this plain. Karrin being bold to his faith stood his ground and prayed to his god Io. This did catch the attention of the Pantheons who rule this outer plain with an Iron Fist. They sent an Efreeti by the name of Zar’Kheth al-Narun to seek out destroy this being who would dare worship anyone else but an Egyptian god. Just as the short rest was over four sand goblins who was recruited by Zar'Kheth showed up. Zar'Kheth did not expect to find mortals let alone the two most disgraceful abominations on this plain a Tiefling and a Dragonborn. Then the battle progresses. The sand Goblins for the most part were easy to dispatch even though they did do some damage to the party. Zar'Kheth on the hand was a different animal who use his abilities to his advantage making more difficult for the party to take down. Forcing the party to use valuable more powerful spells, and forcing the melee fighters to use there ranged weapons if they had any. At one point in the battle Zar'Kheth tried to do an Inner Plains shift spell so that he would report to the Egyptian Pantheons of his findings. In frustration Arceven countered the spell keeping Zar'Kheth there and finally his demise as he was sent back to his home fire plain. Allowing the party to remain out of the watchful eyes of the Ironfisted pantheon of this outer plain. Now they move on to the entrance of the tomb before they are spotted.
