  Dr. Alaric Dain is a cultured but fanatical Imperial industrialist-turned-patron, who is the director of Outer Rim Research and Development for the Empire. Soft-spoken and refined, he carries an almost religious conviction that order is the galaxy’s destiny, pursuing artifacts and research that might preserve Imperial power. Though frail with age, his wealth, influence, and quiet obsession make him far more dangerous than his outward appearance suggests.

  He is known among junior officers as “The Blackbird” for his piercing stare and knack for anticipating the moves of Rebel ships, though some see his unbending discipline as a liability in unpredictable engagements.

  Although not a frontline combatant, Omoc has proven himself cool-headed under fire, able to direct starship maneuvers and deploy reinforcements even when the tactical situation deteriorates. His ambition is to command a Sector Fleet’s entire operations division, believing that efficiency and discipline—not brute force—will ultimately deliver victory.
