Session 15: Vael's Trump Card and the Ball

General Summary

~ Session 15: Vael's Trump Card and the Ball ~   After defeating Meili, Chateau has a discussion with Professor Wen before getting cleaned up. Catrina makes more comments about Professor Wen’s dead wife that she tries to ignore. Everyone prepares for their performances, and Cat has a giant box of makeup and does Château’s makeup. Château and Millie roll incredibly low for the idol performance due to previous circumstances and low modifiers, but Catrina carries them with her natural musical talents. Leo is also surprisingly good at performing, and is a yass slay idol girl. The Fratula rolls well on performance all around and has now acquired fangirls. Muffinpaws sells merch, and Catrina tells Alighieri to stop being poor, stop being broke, and live his best life. Catrina on that #grindsetmindset! Professor Wen gives Catrina detention as a result of Catrina’s actions after Chateau’s duel with Meili, and gives her the rock expression while teaching her about the history of swordsmanship. Cat defends her actions at the duel by saying she was an empath <3. Wyrd starts to investigate the suspicious crows who are hanging around Alighieri’s office, and turns into a bat to check out the birds, which leads them to Millie’s room. Millie makes dog to bird eye contact with a sus bird in her room. The bird tries to look at her hot pink glitter gel pen notebook, and looks around her room. (Please eat the bird Millie.) Millie notices Wyrd grabbing a bird outside her room when she peeks outside her window. Atria returns to their room and Millie tells her about Wyrd’s spying. Catrina returns from her punishment late in the evening only to hear Château tell her about the history of swordsmanship as well. Wyrd goes to buy a scroll to interrogate the birds from Lillia’s shop, but runs into Millie there and lies badly about what they are looking for. Millie gives her a ‘the rock’ look, and warns her about the incoming emos. Wyrd rolls a fuckton of times to find the scroll despite Lillia trying to hide it. Nikola and Azaloth talk about the ball a bit, and then muffinpaws rolls up like a little cowboy man and shoots some magic missiles, and gets a little warm. He expresses his concern to Azaloth about it, and he’s worried, but doesn’t know what to do. Millie receives a letter, the girls and muffinpaws go to visit gort, but Catrina’s drink wasn’t right, so she and muffinpaws leave bad Yelp reviews. Millie meets up with the girls and the paws, and they go to Starbucks. The party gets some much needed rest, which is unfortunately cut short by the sound of sirens. Cat decides to go back to sleep and wishes death upon those who would keep her awake, despite the prodding of Leo, but the rest of the party meets up at the church and they begin to investigate. Following the sounds of screams, the party sees a bunch of skeletons guarding a door to the reliquary. The fighting begins, and Catrina is compelled by the power of Christ to run to the assistance of the party. Some shadows try and flank, and are largely unsuccessful, and the party pushes into the room. Catrina arrives in the nick of time, and Callum the birdman makes strange comments towards her and towards Cyrille, and Catrina heals Millie and they have a little bestie moment (YASS). Callum takes some hits, and Chateau hands Catrina her greatsword, and lands the final blow. Cyrille hands the cursed dagger to Millie, to the brief concern of Wyrd. The party promptly returns to sleep. Shen pulls Chateau aside and explains that the place the zombies and callum invaded is the catacombs that the previous High Priests are buried, save for his mother. Shen tells Chateau to be careful, and to keep their relationship a secret at the ball. “On the down low” as his fellow kids say. Wyrd asks for Azaloth’s help in interrogating the bird, and although he isn’t sure what he brings to that interaction, he agrees. Wyrd coerces the information they are looking for, and then kills the bird. Leo and Catrina talk about what they’re going to wear to the ball, and Leo gives Catrina an outfit, although they aren’t quite sure where it's from. After reading the letter that comes with it they learn that it’s from Catrina’s sister, who convinced Odysseus to pay for the dress. The girls try to bedazzle Costco, but it doesn’t go very well. The ball begins, and the room is very awkward. Some decide to socialise, some do not, but near the end of the night Wyrd and Cyrille have their dance. Cyrille and Nikola are turned. Seth Van Fenrir urges Millie to go forward with his plan. Catrina and her sister Maria share a dance, sparking an argument between her and her husband. Millie and Cyrille decide to take a walk, and Wyrd decides to join them. During this outing, guards arrive and proclaim that Cyrille is under arrest for crimes against the Empire, and attempt to hand them off to Vael and Dyatlov who are here now, and Wyrd tries to stop this, but fails. Guards storm the ballroom and charge Shen, attempting to arrest him, but Shen easily overpowers them, and monologues about his declaration of war on the duke. The professors manage to whisk the students away from the ballroom, and the session ends here.
