Session 12: Kobold Miners Report
General Summary
Having left the curious ratfolk for their return trip the expedition set out for its intended destination. As promised by the scouts what remained of a fully functioning mine was being operated by skeletal Kobolds. Unlike the ghostly farmers, these Kobolds were not friendly and after an initial scouting by Isenara, the party soon found the boney workers coming at them in droves with pick and shovel. The battle was short and fierce with many minor injuries incurred by the ancient mining tools and their wielders. Their foreman was a sorcerer of sorts, all animated in their last tasks by the power of the Sundering so many Centuries ago. With the undead kobolds finally slain and a survey taken, it looked that this mine still had plenty of base ores to produce and plenty needing processing should they be able to re establish a mine here.
With that out of the way the expedition doubled back and set about to helping Drin pack his belongings. It was all they could do for each of them to carry his copious possessions back to their new city. He was questioned on how he acquired so many instruments and alchemical items in the middle of no where, to which he simply replied for Isenara to translate, to never leave anything behind and always be prepared. He would take many days to establish his new lab on the outskirts of town.
Lastly Selests scouts would return, earlier then expected with news that they had found the Shadow Elves. Infact they had found an entire subterranean city numbering in the several thousands. This was grave news given recent potential hostile activity and being so strongly outnumbered. Aria decided it best to dispatch a party to make first contact, for which Malakar quickly volunteered. Assembling a small team of the locals, their normal expedition and Selest scouts, Malakar would set out to meet with these shadow elf neighbors.
