VII. Making Decisions
General Summary
Valisday, Midsky 11
After over a week underground discovering the ancient lost city of Yis'tilah'ste, you have returned to Gravenholm. You've deposited repayment of your investor's investment into his hands with a promise of "more where that came from". After a detour to return the Everliving Seed to the dryad and discovering a nearby fae crossing, you returned to scry on your "friend's" whereabout only to be told that he doesn't exist.
Turning in for the night, you arrived at the Whispering Hearth around supper time. Boran and Dreamhawk spent hours pouring over the documents you stole from the Black Hand. Meanwhile, Max read and performed his nightly routine, Tort went straight to bed after supper, and Ash traded stories with other patrons trying to extract any information or indication of the Black Hand. With her trained eye for those ready to run, she came upon an older elven woman who claimed to have recently seen something vile in the castle and was sure someone was after her - even accusing Ash as an assassin upon their first meeting.
Ash was able to talk the disturbed woman down a little and convinced her to go up to her room to interrogate her under her Zone of Truth spell. Overall, she learned that the woman had witnessed an atrocity - a horrid looking woman killed and began to eat an infant, which is why she believed her life might be in danger. She also admitted that she had seen several individuals within the Vigilant Order and the Raven Guard with "those black rings".
Ash, filled with the need to tell someone, woke Max and told him everything. They decided to let matter rest until everyone was rested and together.
In the morning, as a beautifully displayed breakfast buffet was had, you discussed the options before you; pursue the Black Hand in Gravenholm or return to Yis'tilah'ste for more plunder... and then to maybe systematically kill off the Black Hand. Boran and Dreamhawk told everyone that they now suspected Behram was being watched by them because he is some kind of significant player in the Crimson Rebellion.
After breakfast, you took off to the Grand Bazaar in search of many things. Once your shopping was completed, you went to the Temple of Arelion to have Ash's yklwa. You then tracked down your rickshaw drivers from the previous day and hired them once more to take you to the West Parish.
There, you tracked down the Adventurer's Guild, where you paid the membership fee of 2,000 gold pieces with a ruby from Boran. You were shown to your rooms on the fifth floor. You explored your suite of five rooms, a bathroom, kitchenette, and living space.
Having decided to return to Yis'tilah'ste, how will you fare with your war against the Black Hand? Who can say?
