Virak StrongShield was not born into rebellion; it was the unjust acts of the human overlords that forged his path. Witnessing the tyranny his people faced—Forced labor, extreme poverty, seizure of lands, and @[Knapsworth's](settlement:916bfc42-b9aa-4d91-862c-a99a008f416e) coercive use of orcs to fill its gladitorial pits and arenas—ignited a fierce determination within him. Virak believes that the strength of the orcish race can overcome any obstacle, including the numerically superior and better equipped humans, provided one approaches the city's stranglehold on @[Knarl Igg](settlement:05e9497b-1004-405f-9c8a-4410c9049445) with sufficient guile. Virak was rasied by his mother; an abnormality in Orcish society, but one becoming more and more common in the clans of Knarl Igg, due to the high mortality rate of male orcs. He lost his father early to a bout gone wrong in Knapsworth, where he had been looking to provide for his family. As such, Virak would have missed out on many of the key milestones in a male orcs life if not for the generosity of @Old One Eye(person), an orc serving as an adoptive father for many young males in similar circumstance. Virak is a charismatic leader.
