Out in Kern
The party goes out and find themselves in Kern, the City of Svetlanburg. Within the town, the party met up with Thaddeus Dunsmore, the Dover emissary they met with back in Otsukai. Bostwick mainly coordinated with him on finding a means to thwart the Artisans. The plan would be to return back to Elenaethel and coordinate with the Empress.
Curse of Babushka
While getting ready to head out, John made an involuntary trade with a babushka by providing her a gold piece and taking her furnace. This would naturally rile up authorities but John conceded and provided the materials back in exchange for using raw parts from a warehouse instead.
The old lady would then curse John from afar while he worked on the car.
Back in Elenaethel
The party met with the Empress and other pivotal emissaries with a plan of action to unite the factions against Cordero to ensure the Artisans don't get out of hand. They mentioned the factors at hand:
For now, it's settled to align Miral as both the most direct option and to gain an ally.
Miral
On reaching the country, the party went in during a council session as flamboyant members were theatrical and passionate during debates. Despite the party's efforts to interject, even Raphael Suelto calling out John for being exploitative, coming from Cordero and yet calling for them to rally against Cordero (the demons operating the Artisans, specifically), the party found the two factions couldn't get anything done.
Bastion Assembly
Aligned with Calvaire
The Bastion Assembly embodies the hard work and defense of Miral. Their aim is to protect the country and have it endure through hardship. These are laborers, judicial exerts, financiers, and soldiers.
Verdant Assembly
Aligned with Alviera
The Verdant Assembly emobdies the growth, compassion, and support of Miral. They want to nurture and heal as their philosophy. These are educators, doctors, priests, diplomats.
The Scholar's Theory
Renata Perrin led the party to a scholar who described the Chiaroscuro. It refers to two deities named Alviera and Calvaire. It is said that, before they met, these two deities suffered without purpose, lost and adrift until they met.
Alviera was lost in fantasy, trapped in delusions, and could only cushion her problems rather than fix them. Calvaire wandered Varlum always bitter and angry with surviving out in a harsh, unfeeling world. It's when the two met did they find solace.
Alviera took the pain away from Calvaire and even warmed his bitter, angry heart. Calvaire then helped Alviera become organized and settle her problems thoroughly. It was this dynamic that Miral is inspired.
The scholar believes that the two have grown apart yet again and became lost. Should those two unite, they could rekindle what the country needs most: Direction.
