Meeting with the Dovener Nobility

The party entered the court within Doven now that they have finalized the investigations:

I would like this parliament to know we have cleared up any issues regarding some select members, even among the staff. To put things simply, we have acquired the historic sword for the lord lost in a fjord while clearing up the lies about pies. As for the judge who is believed to budge easy, it was all just fudge is just a farce like with Joan being deemed a crone despite us finding the drone was just a gramophone.

The House can be rest assured that all matters are resolved. Please, let us proceed with the meeting as expected.

By the end of the meeting, the party managed to convince the nobles to put forward full support toward aiding Otsukai.

Kern, Where Ego Resides

The party headed the way forward to Kern with the Kernen emissary, Ernst Kovac.

Mournival Showing

This time, at the Mournival, a new face was there, a member of the Writers. Named Viclean, he explains he's on the hunt for talent. Ego is one such monster he has an interest with.

The lights flash on the stage. Depictions of our party stand in varying poses and predicaments.

Sage: So much has developed and yet the finish line isn't there quite yet, is it?

Critic: Mind you, time never ceases. It is all dependent on who they become.

Sage: Bostwick!

The stage depicts a weary Bostwick, the incremental scratches and cuts having caught up with him as he sits on a tree stump, supporting himself by his halberd.

Critic: Warfare is in your blood. It is how you have grown up. What then when the powers that will be decide to drop you off? To be a source of fear will mean living alone and forgotten.

Sage: What is there to be worried about? There are still other orcs out there as nomads. Though the pivotal fight is over, at least there are those who can relate. All does not have to be lost.

Critic: Gloria!

The stage depicts Gloria staring down a crodda perched on her arm. The fate of such a delicate thing in her hands.

Sage: You were born for being a soldier. Albeit, you've had a shaky career but that doesn't mean you can still stop the baddies and be the icon you are on kids' lunch boxes.

Critic: Oh, how ironic. The paragon of Cordero being the one to burn it all to the ground. To crush the demonic incursion is no doubt a facade. No doubt there is an insecurity to kill. Only in violence can the thoughts stop spiraling.

Sage: John!

The light flashes to depict an ironic family photo of father and son, where John wears suspenders and a cap while Ego, the horrific machine, glares forward with childish clothes but holds a sword in front.

Critic: What I love most of all is the classic instance of childish rebellion. A tale of mortals being irresponsible gods and they have the nerve to be baffled why their creation wants them dead for bringing them into a world of chronic pain and suffering!

Sage: Infernal power is quite something, however. Rage is a powerful force but it is predictable. Why and how are the tools needed to sharpen the tools for confronting the present more readily.

Critic: Souris!

The light flashes on to depict Souris, sitting on the shoulders of Actors, looking eye to eye with Ego.

Sage: It's like a classic battle of hot versus cold. One embodies the passion and kindness mortals have to offer, the other would love nothing more than to wipe them all away. If only there was a way to mend this split.

Critic: One is an emotional support canister, the other a tormented soul hellbent on annihilating its makers. There is no consolidation. There is only how much force one can bring to the other. There will be nothing but a hollowed shell and a spirit freed from mortal gambits.

The lights go off. When they go on, Viclean bows with his sardonic smile, "That is all for today's showing. Come again another time."

Dr. Steinbruck's Laboratory

The party entered Dr. Steinbruck's lair. It's here the party managed to uncover remnants of Ego's transformation here. It's also revealed Souris' creator, Bouchon, also helped with the effort. Supposedly, he explained it's to better grasp how to make his own automaton work, only angering Ego further. There is also the Iconoclast, no doubt a member of the Artisans being here, who helped work on priming Ego to be a weapon. Even he whispered to the machine that, should Ego manage to kill John, that Ego could finally find peace and be let go.

Otherwise, the party left with purified scraps of cleansed Infernal metals, seeking out Amadeus next.
