Limbless Followers
The Limbless Followers are the acolytes who worship Zehir, along with the Scaled Priest. They are named thusly because the Following of Zehir requires many new practioners mutilate their bodies, for some unknown purpose. Some speculate that it is to more closely resemble a snake, others say that it is meant to be seen as a sacrifice to Zehir, etc.
Many regard these individuals with fear, disdain, or both. They consistently travel together, often times marching in rank and file, muttering small prayers as they shuffle by. They are almost never seen after dark, but that is when the Carved Church truly comes alive.
Mabel Valance
A regal owlin with the resembalnce of a barn owl is the bartender at the Watering Hole. Mabel Valance is a stern man who takes pride in his work and himself. You can often catch him preening his feathers when not on his post. You won't find a stiffer drink anywhere else, but know that he's not much of a conversationalist either.
He does appear to hide much about himself, few know of his true history or how he came to be in Hadarac. He also keeps this information very close to his chest, revealing only what he needs to, nothing more.
Photine Caldera
Photine Caldera, proprieter of Photine's Foibles, the general store in Hadarac. Photine is a strong woman, with deep red skin and smoldering lines of orange splinter across it. A proud Fire Genasi, Photine holds herself highly, exuding an air of confidence and warmth. Her sparking hair sits in braids on her head, the tendrils of fire dancing in the dim light of her shop.
Sarzul Family
The Sarzul Family are the four Lizardfolk that own and run the stables in Hadarac. A budding family of four, they are Qultak (the Father), Kultuz (the Mother), Otturusk (the elder daughter), and Thross (the younger daughter).
They all bear a resemblace to thorny lizards, with warm colored scales, pointed tails, and spikes lining their faces. They are known to be practicers of a certain mysticism, as many lizardfolk have an inate connection to the natural world. They are also known to be very reliable and helpful with their business, happy to host and maintain mounts for travellers.
T 9800 Johnson
One of the two Bounty Hunters who captured Kaladin. A large, blood red, brute of a Warforged. He stands almost double the height of his partner, and provides most of the firepower in battle. He is used to combat and does not shy away from it. Kaladin learned that this particular machine acted without remorse and cared only about completing his job.
The Scaled Priest
The Scaled Priest is a dark figurehead that looms over the Carved Church. Commanding the small congregation of Limbless Followers, they command from the shadows, maintaining an air of mystery around their true identity. Their name, gender, appearance, are all unknown. This, thing, acts as a voice for Zehir, holding services in the Carved Church multiple times a week. All that people know of the Scaled Priest is the large statue it speaks behind during service, an imposing, sandstone monument to Zehir. It's stone body coiled around a column, raising it's head to the ceiling and baring it's huge fangs proudly.
Travelling Merchants
Merchants frequent Hadarac along established trade routes that cross the Burning Dunes. They bring with them goods from cities around the continent, so if there are more "exotic" treasures that are too be found, one can always visit the marketplace, on any given day.
Ungren Juvo
A tall, slender character, Ungren is a Vedalken, with pure blue skin and a sharp, piercing gaze. He regards many with disdain, and speaks down to most he meets. He has a shoddy reputation around Hadarac, but as he runs the only hotel in town, he remains in business.
There is an off putting air around Ungren, many say that all would do well to avoid him at any cost, lest you experience the misfortune of meeting him.
Vorik The Vicious
A small, wiry creature, Vorik is a Kobold who intends to take over the world, with the help of his servant T 9800 Johnson. Vorik stands at half the height of his partner and acts with cowardice, motivated by his greed but unwilling to get his hands dirty. He is a spineless fool at heart, and would fall victim to any scheme for more money.
He is a dusty orange color, with a strong fin/ridge that runs along his spine and arcs into a crest on his head. He also sports a short, pointed tail that pokes out of the dark red cloak he wears on his shoulders.
