Frontier Session 4 Report
General Summary
Session 4: 28-07-2024
The party starts their journey back to town after resting and collecting their horses from the watchtower. Traveling down south to town with the floating cube in tow they reach The gates of the settlement. Guards stop the party and question them about the cube. They manage to talk their way through the gate with the floating cube. Suicu notices that the cube gets heavier when it comes near the lighthouse.
The party goes inside leaving Jock to guard the cube. They encounter Maude working on a strange humanoid creature and introduces him as Hiron, a medical automaton sent by a colleague by the name of Doctor Thomas. It's a strange creature that appears to be a mix of Human and robotic components but she assures the party it's a useful creature that can heal them.
Glee delivers the notes on the writing, runes and sketches of the ruins in the jungle to the scientist. She places the strange language in a thinking machine she calls a Cognitator and it manages to make a rough translations by referrencing old languages. It prints out:

She gives Glee a bunch of schematics of weapons and items as a reward. Schematics are below:

They went to the townhall to collect their gold from the bank and met the Townmaster Hallowbinder who explained the town hall served as a post office, bank and records hall. He also offered some work to the party in finding some compromising information on his political opponent Lavender Fisher, the owner of the Green Dragon Inn. Also there is a messenger from the Empire that he would like to "go away" without any violence.
The party decides to investigate both sides of the story by infiltrating both the town hall and the office of Lavender Fisher. Hiron checks his internal database and finds records on Lavender and earns there is a rumor about Lavender being involved in smuggling a flower called the Devil's Flower that produces a drug called the Devil's Nectar when the seeds are processed and distilled. From his database he learns that Lavender is popular and has a good chance to win the election. Siucu checks with a local herbalist and finds out it is a legal substance in Brightwater but not in the Empire and there is hint that smuglers in the tavern might know more.
Siucu infiltrates the town hall via the clocktower and stealthily makes his way to the townmaster's office and picks the lock. He recovers documents and a box of 100gp from his desk.
The documents contain some reports and correspondence between the Council of Clans and the Council of Brightwater. There is a letter that contains a plan about installing an Imperial governor to oversee the lands of Brightwater and the homesteads. This is to strengthen the control of the Empire and bring them closer in. They ask for a population census to be conducted and for the personal information on the council members and their staff to be returned with the Aeronaut messenger as soon as possible.
Trying to copy the documents he was almost caught by a guard and had to escape by magical means. Rushing down the street there didn't seem to be an alarm raised.
Jock sneaked into Lavender's office at night through a mouse hole and go into the office without issue. However he didn't find anything of note in the piles of paper other then he learned that Lavender also owns a plantation outside of town.
