This is noteworthy, as many folkloric constructs do not.
Yet no account records him dying — nor retreating due to injury. In at least two incidents, the figure was struck down, only to rise moments later and complete the engagement.
He does not appear tireless.
He appears enduring.
One soldier’s account, preserved due to corroboration:
“He fought like a man who knew pain well — and did not fear adding to it.”
