Accounts of the Ashen Knight consistently describe a figure who arrives without warning and departs without ceremony.
He is not reported leading forces or rallying resistance. Rather, he appears at moments of collapse — when defenders are failing, when escape is narrowing, or when a final stand is imminent. His intervention is decisive but contained. He does not pursue fleeing enemies, nor does he linger to secure victory beyond immediate necessity.
Witnesses frequently remark that he seems uninterested in being seen at all. Several describe realizing his presence only after the threat has been broken, noticing movement at the edge of vision or hearing steel where none had been moments before.
In every account, once the danger has passed, the Ashen Knight is gone.
