The Zycorian Mineral Codex
A Compendium of the Divine Veins of Zycore
Introduction
When the goddesses Rexentra (Order) and Dramera (Chaos) perished in their war against the eldritch being Bel’thazorn, their divine essence crystallized into the bones of the world—forming the landmass known as Zycore. From their corpses and the chained void at the world’s heart, minerals of unimaginable power took shape. Each mineral is a manifestation of divine energy in material form, capable of influencing life, magic, and the stability of reality itself
The Minerals of Zycore exist in three known states—Dormant, Awakened, and Attuned—with a rare fourth manifestations known as Resonant States, corrupted by Bel’thazorn’s influence. These minerals are sought by arcanists, priests, and warlords alike, for within them lies both creation and destruction.
Below is a chart representing the arcane runic sigils associated with each mineral. These symbols are often carved into focus crystals, temple reliefs, or spell circles to attune the caster’s intent to the mineral’s resonance.
These runes are etched into relics and sanctums throughout Zycore. Their meanings vary slightly between cultures: the Shyvarie Dynasty aligns them to elemental philosophy, while Skaldhiem uses them as geomantic seals in rune-forging.
Zycore Mineral Breakdown
I. Rexenite (Orderstone)
Color: Silver-white with crystalline blue veinsAlignment: Law, Order, Arcane Binding
Dormant: Emits faint harmonic vibrations near ley lines.
Awakened: Amplifies abjuration and warding magic, forming protective matrices.
Attuned: Grants its wielder heightened focus and resistance to chaos magic.
Resonant: Shatters into shards that suppress emotion and wild energy.
Common Use: Constructing planar seals, magical prisons, and spell containment cores.
Regional Sources: Found primarily in northern Uulek’Dorr, deep beneath the Citadel Range and the Azrath Peaks, and in the ley-stabilized caverns below Skaldhiem’s Frostwall Peaks. Ancient dwarven archives refer to these veins as The Singing Mines of Order.
II. Dramerite (Chaosglass)
Color: Translucent amber with internal red and violet currentsAlignment: Entropy, Emotion, Transmutation
Dormant: Warm to the touch; changes hue with mood.
Awakened: Induces unpredictable magical surges (Wild Magic effects).
Attuned: Enhances transmutation and illusion spells; often used by dreamwalkers.
Resonant: Becomes semi-liquid, warping consciousness and memory.
Common Use: Fuel in shapeshifting forges and experimental enchantments.
Regional Sources: Common along the volcanic rifts of Emberos, particularly near The Veins of Yl’kora—a canyon network said to bleed molten amber light. Smaller deposits appear near The Shadelit Hollow , where the barrier between dreams and reality weakens.
III. Beltharite (Void Crystal)
Color: Black crystal containing motes of starlightAlignment: Nothingness, Corruption, Anti-Magic
Dormant: Draws heat and light inward, dulling its surroundings.
Awakened: Drains vitality and magical energy in a radius.
Attuned: Amplifies necromantic and banishment magic.
Resonant: Tears rifts in space; creates micro-gravitational distortions.
Common Use: Forbidden; used only in void rituals and Riftwarden experiments.
Regional Sources: Unearthed within the Riftscar Depths beneath Ebonreach, and in forbidden dig sites near Ravenshold Prison in Uulek’Dorr. Legends claim fragments still drift within the Heart Abyss beneath Zycore’s crust.
IV. Emberite
Color: Fiery orange, glowing like molten coalAlignment: Fire, Passion, Renewal
Dormant: Radiates faint warmth.
Awakened: Channels evocation magic and rekindles life energy.
Attuned: Grants resistance to cold and regeneration during combat.
Resonant: Burns eternally, consuming blood or emotional energy.
Common Use: Fuel for pyromantic engines, Phoenix Orders, and fireforged relics.
Regional Sources: Abundant in the Ashúnian Archipelago, especially beneath Lochmond Isle and the volcanic tunnels of Mount Vayreth. The Pravalon Empire guards several Emberite Forges as sacred ancestral fires.
V. Shyvarite
Color: Deep azure with mirrored fleck.Alignment: Water, Reflection, Memory
Dormant: Absorbs sound and emotion nearby.
Awakened: Enables scrying and divination through reflective surfaces.
Attuned: Allows dreamwalking and perfect memory recall.
Resonant: Creates mirror-duplicates—unstable echo entities.
Common Use: Used by Whisper Monks and seers to glimpse possible futures.
Regional Sources: Mined from the flooded caves of Tyr'Grandiff, and beneath the crystal lakes of Eadrera’s Mirrorplain Basin. Fragments also appear in Skeldhiem's coastline, embedded within ancient ice.
VI. Ruinforge (Entropite)
Color: Deep crimson-black with veins of molten gold that flicker like living fireAlignment: Destruction, Energy Flow, Renewal Through Ruin
Dormant: Emits a low hum when near decaying matter or magical residue.
Awakened: Channels destructive energy that breaks down magical barriers and restores latent ley flow.
Attuned: Allows the wielder to manipulate raw energy currents, converting destruction into power.
Resonant: Becomes a self-sustaining cataclysm, feeding endlessly on the energy it releases.
Common Use: Used by warforges, rune-breakers, and ley engineers to cleanse or corrupt magical nexuses.
Regional Sources: Found deep beneath The Broken Crucible of eastern Uulek’Dorr—where ley rivers erupt into flame and collapse into void. Fragments also appear in The Scorched Veins of Emberos, often mistaken for molten Beltharite.
Lore: Scholars call Entropite the “Ruinforge Mineral”, a remnant of Bel’thazorn’s dying breath mixed with Rexentra’s order—destruction and renewal entwined. It is said the gods forged the first suns from its radiant decay.
VII. Myrlakite
Color:Pale green with fractal inclusionsAlignment: Nature, Growth, Decay
Dormant: Promotes plant growth within several feet.
Awakened: Accelerates natural healing and decomposition.
Attuned: Grants control over spores and communication with flora.
Resonant: Creates fungal hive minds or parasitic symbioses.
Common Use: Central to druidic rites, living armor, and regenerative elixirs.
Regional Sources: Found throughout The Shattered Wilds of Myr’lakka, growing from petrified trees and fungal spires. Smaller nodes surface in The Rylorik Lowlands, where nature reclaims ancient ruins.
VIII. Eadranite
Color: Golden-white crystalAlignment: Light, Truth, Healing
Dormant: Emits gentle, holy light.
Awakened: Repels undead and neutralizes corruption.
Attuned: Enhances divine spellcasting and purity of mind.
Resonant: Burns away corruption—and individuality—with divine sterilization.
Common Use: Holy relics and relic-core healing wards.
Regional Sources: Found primarily in Eadrera’s High Sanctum Canyons, within cathedral catacombs. It also surfaces in the Crowned Expanse of Zycore’s central continent, where ancient temples collapsed into golden veins.
IX. Skelthane
Color: Charcoal grey with red metallic veinsAlignment: Earth, Endurance, Gravity
Dormant: Unmovably dense and heavy.
Awakened: Creates fields of stability or magnetic influence.
Attuned: Allows manipulation of gravity and stone.
Resonant: Creates crushing gravity wells.
Common Use: Citadel foundations and armor of the Stoneguard.
Regional Sources: Predominant in Skaldhiem’s Deepforge Mines and the Iron Cradle Mountains of Adyrin Empire. The Stoneguard Brotherhood smelts Skelthane into enduring fortress cores.
