Different happenings around Creston during the start of the new year.

Shai Rotmaw had been imprisoned for several weeks, following the public discovery of Book and the wrath it would have her unleash upon the world. Pulminov's Loremaster, Tallan, has been studying Book in isolation since its apprehension, but he suspects he will need powers beyond his own magic to sever its connection to Shai. Following a long term of no episodic breakdowns or apparent possessions, Tallan has been allowed to supervise her on occasional ventures outside of her cell.   Following a very rocky road in trying to solve a personal crisis, Elliot Cain was approached by several bounty hunters, who revealed that he has traveled under multiple identities and, under one known alias, crossed a crime boss called Tharad the Thoughtful. Cain enlisted in the aid of Calukris, Concord, Maeral, Trivitana, and the Redbar Guard to hear the truth of his past and get the bounty hunters off his back. After a long night, one bounty hunter defected, and the other two were subdued and jailed, with their fates yet to be determined. Though the immediate danger has passed, there remains a lingering concern that the threat of Tharad may return.   The town of Creston has seen additional developments in recent times: Evelyn Monroe has officially opened La Chateau Mirage for business. As opposed to her gorgeous shop, a shadier venue marketing odd trinkets has been discovered in a hole in the wall in Old Creston.
Both love and heartbreak have been recurring themes in the social lives of the expedition's members, through the month. And as the month drew to a close, Aestryllen and Maeral departed from Redbar Island, choosing to brave the dangers of Zorolai to uncertain ends. Yet, as they vanished, new faces arrived on the brink of the new year.
