The Third Orc War

It is historically accurate that Orcs are the most bloodthirsty of all the races (not counting Drow) with Nagas a close second.

It is also surprising that their numbers are still strong, even though all of the great wars were lost by them.

What is important that their bloodlust has not diminished and even got bigger with each loss.

During the 3rd war, Orc shamans meddled with forbidden magic to boost their ranks and let them win this time.

The plans did not go entirely as planned and some of the shamans were infused by the magics they were trying to bend to their will.

That fusion resulted in what they wanted in some sense, created better soldiers, warmongering berserkers, but mindless.

They created void fissures along their path, from which shadowy tendrils emerged.

Whenever they attacked with their two-handed axes, that were covered with tendrils and bulging eyes, rift appeared near the target, from which the inky hands popped out trying to reach the prey.

While extremely deadly, they were also easily ambushed and trapped becoming vulnerable to ranged attacks, which Elves were perfect at.

However the controversial usage of forbidden magic, the regular shamans, who did not meddle with the illicit magic, started to experiment with various herbs with mixed results.

That was the beginning of so-called "Hirela" Orcs, stronger, faster and more intelligent warriors.

They were easily distinguishable from other Orcs by their purple tint veins on the light green skin.

Hirelas not only caused havoc on the battlefield they were also extremely respected and favoured within the society, but not by all.

There were still traditional Orcs, who did not look kindly to the modifications that some of the shamans have done.

This is when the split in the societies began, time-honored Orcs travelled south and settled in the Bluescar and started new life.
