Plateaus of the Arcanum

In the beginning the world was travelled only by the Primordial beings and magic was flowing through magical entities called Arcana.

Wherever those terrific forms roamed, they created landscapes based on their attunement and when they clashed with another one, the terrain created was spectacular and extra-ordinary.

Mountains, lakes, seas, forests, bogs, all of the topography of the world was created by those extra-terrestrial beings.

One of such vistas is a volcano, where earth and fire meets to create something amazing and rather remarkable.

However, nothing compares to the Plateaus, where all forces met and mingled. Such an event created an explosion of an unimaginable scale, it wiped all of the creations within a huge radius.

The whole area was leveled and covered by the purple dust, from which first humanoid race appeared, the ancestors to the contemporary Elves.

While it was an amazing phenomenon, the humanoids needed to move from there as any other life was destroyed prior to their birth.

As usual in such situations, their survival depended on the food source and shelter, so they moved west to Brazierfields and settled in Cherrywallow thicket.

While they moved to fertile lands, the Plateaus boomed with arcane energy, for the millenia to come the lands' magic would be siphoned into their society for research.

While many things remained a mystery, some became clearer with time, Elves, especially Astral Elves as they were later named, have a lot of time during their lives to discover facts and study their origin.

However the truth about their creators continued to be obscure, even now, when we are much more advanced, we do not know a lot about the terrific forms that roamed and created the world as we see it now.
