Jicie

Jicie is a subrace of pixies that transforms multiple times during their lifetimes and contrary to them they are not born with the wings.

They are born resembling miniature human babies, however they can walk from the start.

The first few years are spent on admiring their flying elders, while they need to get by walking everywhere.

This has also benefits, do you remember how chaotic were some of the classrooms during lectures? Now imagine them when the pupils are flying all over.

When they reach 3-4 years old, their wings pop out and while the flying is completely new and hard to master, they can finally try to catch up to their parents.

Everyone agrees that the ability to fly is given way too early, before the development of the awareness stalk, which works kind of like an alarm that alerts them of the danger.

And young Jicies evolve into those stalks at the age of 10 usually, when they enter adolescence.

From that point onwards they are aware of everything happening around them and can actually start complaining about the younglings bumping into everyone and everything.

While those previous ones are always guaranteed, the next one is random and will appoint the role in the society.

Three mutations have been observed:

- Damaging breath, which results in a young individual developing a set of glands in the back of its throat that are infused with chaotic magic and in the end being assigned to the military force. They will be guardians of the populace.

- The Vanishing, which causes variations in skin cells to cause them be slightly out of phase for the visible light and make the Jicie invisible for a period of time. They make excellent hunters, scouts and infiltrators.

- Amphibious adaptation, which causes webs to grow between their fingers and growing gills on the sides of creature's neck and making them adept at swimming, breathing air and water. They also gain resistance to low temperatures.
