Goals after summer camp
Summer camp was the first time I wrote consistently and broke the barrier of ten thousand words.
Small descriptions of various elements seem minuscule at first , but it adds up real quick.
That was an awesome experience especially while being stuck I could check other people's entries and get some inspiration from all of the amazing ideas.
Many times it happened that what I thought of linear prompt, after reading some entries, I realized that everything can be approached from various perspectives and put into an incredible array of settings.
For the goals for upcoming years, I definitely want to write more and not only when the challenge is the there with cute badge.
I want to use images to complement writing, so it creates a rather coherent story.
None of it would have happened if I did not read books and prompts, so I want to read more.
What I really want to try is to select one part of the world or a race and focus on all of the aspects of their life:
Experimenting would be also what I want to try out, moving from the standard tropes and going far and beyond into imagination with some goofy stuff..
What I have learned from this summer camp that I need to read and be more knowledgeable in all aspects of world building and not just the things I am more comfortable with.
I struggled the most with the food and language descriptions, but I bet there are more that I am clueless about.
If someone has any books recommendations on how to expand the general knowledge of world building, please share them in the comments.[br

- world view
- cities, language
- culture, environment
- religions
- cooking
- transportation
- allies and enemies
- trade
- and whatever else adds up to the society of a singular populace.
