G'shi Curse

One of the most dangerous invasions in the history of Multiverse was the one from the Plane of Plate.

Whole plane was once a living and thriving space for their inhabitants, however this ended when the plane was invaded from the inside.

The metallic creatures dwelling underground, near the jarring core, decided to invade the surface and take control over the plane as a start.

The surface dwellers fought valiantly at first, but later on they realized that the next waves of attackers became more and more adapted to their defences.

The metallic creatures, g'shians, shared their knowledge as a hive mind, all future generations of creatures have all of the wisdom of their ancestors.

The most terrifying thing about fighting g'shians is that when they don't kill you straight, they inflict you with a curse, that slowly transforms you into one of them.

Your organs become replaced with mechanical parts and blood becomes oil, it is not something like vampirism or werecurse, where your cravings are affected or you change under specific conditions, this time you change for good.

The process is called Jarr based on the jarring core those creatures came from.

Surface folk after many trials and errors found a way to stop or slow down the change, but it is awfully painful and needs to be done before any of the crucial organs are replaced.

Most of the people affected by the curse still do not survive the procedure, but it is still the best bet cause death is still better then becoming one with the hive.

While the g'shians took over the surface and forced the remaining surface people to retreat into the caves, the research on the curse and plans for regaining control over the plane continues.
