Ferris
Ferris was an incredibly prosperous world with extremely developed planar technology.
The populace started exploring and colonizing their system, everything was fine at first and nothing indicated any troubles along the way.
Their expansion reached also their source of light, warmth and life, they wanted to siphon the power of the sun to further fuel their development.
However they did not predict that while it was relatively safe from afar, the reactions occurring on the surface of the sun will bring extreme consequences.
They created long mining tubes that dug deep into the sun and transferred the energy through power shafts back to their home planet. It was then when the sun started to fight back, the fight ended instantaneously when the enormous power bubble arrived to the target planet resulting in a world-shattering explosion creating multiple shards of their world.
The split was so intense that millions of people lost their lives in an instant during the explosion and others did not understand what happened.
It took quite some time for the inhabitants of Ferris to recover, but the shattering created new opportunities.
Completely new and unknown resources came to being, which in result helped speeding up development.
The shards of Ferris became connected by the planar tubes allowing fast transmission between them and from the outside the whole system might look like a representation of a chemical compound.
To this day, most of the populace learned from the mistakes of their ancestors and do not go too far with their expansion, but there are some that wonder what would happen if they try it again cause the first one definitely was beneficial for those who survived and sped up the research.
We all observe from the relative safety and extreme curiosity what will happen here next.
