Zora

[YEAR 2573]
Humanity had plagued the earth with pollution and waste, to the point where global warming had become more and more tangible. The US government funded a space mission to find another planet for the human race to stay on. Planet Zora was found in a nearby solar system, specifically selected for its similarity to Earth. The only differences were the strange wildlife and the atmosphere was slightly thinner.
NATO was able to come to an agreement that a population of people, mainly made up of scientists, geoscientists, agriculturists, and conservationists, would stay on Earth to try and rehabilitate it, while another large group of people would go to live on Zora.
To test this plan, the US, along with a few other countries claimed land masses. The US chose Governor Lauro Fontana to lead a group of 200 people to survey their claimed land. They discovered a surplus of alien wildlife, as well as a canine-like alien species, whom the US called Zora-wolves, after their striking resemblance to Earth's wolves.
After over a year on Zora, the planet was opened for settlement, and a large population of humans would then call Zora their new home.
