Session 3 Recap
General Summary
Last time, the party spent some time on the beach in the cavern underneath the “haunted mansion” determining that there is a low tide every two weeks that seems to coincide with the smuggler’s ship appearing off shore. Shortly thereafter, the ship left and the tide began filling the cavern.
The party retreated to the barracks, then confronted the Alchemist’s Undead remains, along with several other skeletons. After looting everything of value, they made their way back up to the house and explored the second floor. Despite Ungir and Goddle falling through the floor a thrice combined, the party managed to explore most rooms without incident before finding a naked, bound man named Ned. After discovering vials of poison in his clothes, the party began to question Ned. In response, Ned (after dressing) jumped out the window and disappeared, but not before yelling “For Master Gellen!”
The party, having finally finished clearing the house, made their way back to the Wicker Goat, where they met Anders, Eliander, Skerrin, and two other individuals - Eda Oweland and Captain Xendros. Xendros was particularly interested in the two Wishborne - Barney and Belgren - but also mentioned that she had a shop stocked with exotic goods and services from the Aeuz Empire.
Eda was more interested in the fact that the smugglers seemed to be dealing in slavery. She arranged for a full council meeting the next morning at 11 am and sent her own scouts to check out the house.
Anders paid the party, with an extra 10 gold from Eda for returning the stolen goods. Skerrin also paid the party a visit, warning them not to accuse Gellen of anything directly during the council meeting, but to instead hold onto the evidence they’d already acquired and keep their eye out for more in the future.
Party settled in for another night in the inn - although they were advised to seek alternative arrangements for 7 gold a week at the Snapping Line if they were planning on staying for an extended period - and prepared for the council meeting the next day.
