Session 14 Recap

11th of Firstbright, 876 SA   The party returned to Saltmarsh, where Xendros explained more about her heritage as a descendant of Dispater, the ruler of the Second Layer of the Nine Hells - Dis. She explained that Titivilus serves as Dispater's top lieutenant, but has been scheming to take power over a realm of his own. While he has been banished to his home realm along with his minions, Xendros fears he is not done tormenting the Azure Coast. Xendros prosposed to the party that they begin preparations to face him in his fortress at the City of Dis - the only place he can be truly killed. To prepare for this final confrontation, the party descended into the ruins of White Plume Mountain, an ancient wizard's lair underneath the Silver Mines where people can face tests to receive items of incredible power.   Finkin passed the first of the six tests, resisting temptation to claim a ring claiming to contain incredible power. He was rewarded with an Amulet of the Planes, which can allow its bearer to transport themselves and their allies between planes. The party then crossed the boiling geysers and proceeded to a pitch black room, where a hidden adversary lashed out at Belgren.
