Icewind Dale Session 4 Recap

Start and End: 18th of Firstfrost, 906 SA   From Akar's Journal   So, Zel got grabbed by a tentacled brain looking thing with a beak. It tried to pull him over a big hole, but Baldric shot the beast, and I caught Zel to keep'em from falling into the abyss...Then, we went down deeper into the mine. We encountered some Kobolds who Baldric and the turtle talked to and convinced to take us to their leader. Trex was his name. I say "was" because we tried to make peace between him and the town, but then he revealed himself to be a fucking ghost. I hate ghosts. I mean, I HATE them. The ghost said some shit about being tied to a pouch, and the Kobold, Trex, ran off after Val took the pouch. The ghost then looked like it went into Val, but Val said it said some shit about going after Trex. All I knew was I needed to destroy that damn pouch. The orc and the turtle went after Trex, but ole, Baldric and I kept an eye on Val. Val took off and killed Trex. Oh!! Zel glows purple now! Something about a magic skull that spoke to him and a crystal. Anyways, So, Trex is dead, Zel glows, and Val may have been possessed by a ghost... I tried to destroy the pouch, but eventually, I gave up because Baldric signaled me to stand down. I trust him for now.   We went back to the town where Oarus and Boris were causing a scene. Baldric stated we cleared the mine on behalf of Boris, Val, said some shit to Oarus, and Oarus ran off for "retirement". Whatever, bye ghost!   We went to meet Boris at the Eastside Inn, to get paid. There was some talk about the sacrifices being a deal breaker for staying in Termalaine. Bunch of wimps! Can't take making a sacrifice of heat for a night or food for a day. Shit could be a lot worst. Those things are luxuries in these parts. Thankfully, our leader seemed to get it. He proposed we chose between food and heat. The group decided to head to Lonelywood. When we got there, Baldric took out the pixie lantern or whatever, and it was glowing, so I guess where going to go hunt some creepy child noised in the woods... SO, Zel is Purple, we tried to make peace with a kobold who turned out to be possessed, passed the ghost off to another person, wimped out on a night in the cold, and are now going to hunt pixie, spirit creepy child sound making things in the woods. What the fuck?
