Icewind Dale Session 3 Recap

General Summary

Start: 17th of Firstfrost, 906 SA End: 18th of Firstfrost, 906 SA   From the journal of Uldak   Every day in this Pelor-forsaken heap of snow brings new problems. I was nearly gutted fighting Sephec fellow so naturally I went to bed early. Apparently the rest of my companions did not follow suit...    Our group took on a few jobs from the lovely Ms. Trollbane and headed to Termalaine to resolve an issue with kobolds in a mine. Along the way we stumbled onto Ms. Dannika and saved her from some Cragcats speaking a fancy language, more awakened creatures serving this Frost Druid Ravisin. After dispatching the beasts(and realizing they’d eaten our dinosaur friend Plessi) we were given a lantern to track some elemental spirits Dannika believed could help end the endless winter. Worth a shot!    We escorted the poor girl to Termalaine to rest but I was immediately harassed by a boor of a man named Boris. I of course defended my honor and the honor of my people and caused quite a scene. In my youth I would have challenged the man to a duel but I promised Baldric I wouldn’t jeopardize the mission for my own goals or pride. I trust Pelor has a plan and had put me with this group for a reason. But it would be nice if they shared the goals of our mission!   Apparently Boris is our contact and was putting up a front in an attempt to expose the corruption or evils of the local speaker, who happens to be a half orc! That’s why he singled me out. I’m not fond of the deception, but I understand that I am in a strange land and must be cautious. Pelor’s light will shine a light on the falsehoods in due time. In the meanwhile, the party and I endeavor to clear some kobolds from these mines. A prospect that seems to frighten Zel to a great degree. But how dangerous can kobolds really be?!
