Gulf of Tears

The Gulf of Tears is called as such because of its long bloody history as the site of many naval battles between Veruun and Kaeol. Many seafaring races and species have paid the price of the two countries' enmity, perhaps none so much as the Alu-Quessir tribes who call the gulf home. Of the many sea elf communities that once existed in the gulf, only the Manaan Tribe still remains in any real numbers. In recent years there has been greater peace on the Gulf, in large part due to the Aeuzian Empire's intervention in the most recent war. By claiming a stretch of land between Veruun and Kaeol, Emperor Iuz gained access to the southern oceans and created a defacto neutral zone in one fell swoop.
