Tor (tore)
The Ponderer, The Cautious, Peaceful One
Neutral Good Turtlekin Sage God
Depicted as a kind looking turtlekin scholar, in a sturdy saffron toga, bearing a rustic walking stick, and a cased scroll (which is one of his holy symbols, the other being a stylized turtle shell glyph).Tor is worshipped across the land among some scholars, sages, contemplatives, diplomats, and monastics, though in a restrained and reserved fashion as doing anything to excess is antithetical to the doctrine of this mild and moderate deity. The maxim 'moderation in all things' is frequently cited by his adherents as a holy tenent of Tor, and a general belief that harmonious equilibrium is nearly always ideal is commonly held among them.
Tor believes that violence should always be the last resort when dealing with sentient creatures capable of reason. Consequently, his followers are determined to give peace a chance, attempt diplomatic resolutions, and generally follow a path of non-violence or avoidance. But even the Peaceful One acknowledges that violence can be unavoidable when dealing with unthinking entities and primal beings of a dangerous nature that are incapable of change, and also does not expect his faithful to be pacifistic to the point of allowing themselves to be maimed or killed.

The Sagacious Savants
Taught via instruction manuals and direct one on one mentorship from more advanced practitioners, the so-called Gentle Art of Self-Defense of the Sagacious Savants is a primarily defensive but deceptively effective fighting style. These subtle and gentle folk prefer to seek non-violent resolutions, but when that is not an option they do what is necessary to disable while minimizing further harm.
- The Monk subclass Way of Sagacious Savants is available in the setting. A reskin of the Drunken Master from Xanathar's Guide to Everything, with a bit of tuning. It offers a flexible choice for a wandering sage or itenerant and worldly monk.
